CoCiviCo Speaker Series - Navigating the Transition to College: Supporting Students with Mental Health Challenges
Many students and their families who have received support in the public education system, including IEP’s and Section 504 plans, are not adequately prepared for the transition to college. This presentation will focus on navigating the transition to college for students with mental health challenges. While the focus of the presentation is on supporting students with mental health conditions, this information is applicable to all current and hopeful students and those who support them! This session will provide information in the following areas: Student rights and responsibilities under the ADA and Section 504, breaking down the accommodations process, and the role of campus engagement in student success and well-being.
